Looking east from the Mt Pilchuck lookout: the sun’s rays quickly brighten up the horizon

On our descent, we get a view of the snowy mountainside we had braved without spikes (would not recommend)

On our descent, we get a view of the cascades we could only hear on our ascent.

deeper in the forrest, we’re shaded from the het of the quickly rising sun.
