Marissa Sohn is a visual artist, enthusiast, and general obsessor living and working in the Seattle area. Her involvement in the arts is a compulsion beyond anything else, as her love for photography brought her to Cornish College of the Arts in 2011 where she began to explore the depths of analogue and alternative photographic processes. Her fascination with the medium was based in the contrast between the medium’s tangibility and simultaneous sense of displacement, and as she found her love for playing with perception her work began encroaching into different media. Today, her work is still photographically based, but often ventures into realms of video, sculpture, textile, mixed media, installation, and more.
